About Josh
I became involved with my high school newspaper through a friend of mine. At first I drew a few doodles to accompany articles. Then I began writing articles and taking photos. After that, I started laying out the newspaper. Later, I helped redesign the paper. By Senior year I was the Editor-in-Chief and coordinated a team to produce new issues on a monthly basis.
I love to jump in and experiment. Everything from photography to database development to coordinating events.
I’ve held onto that work ethic since then, approaching every project holistically. I work with the client to make sure the finished product is what they need, not just what they want. It might mean as little as changing the wording of a headline, or it might mean rethinking the project from the ground up.
Recently, I was tasked with creating an original 13-month calendar from scratch. We had a tiny budget and there weren’t enough stock images out there to create the quality product we needed for our sponsors. I had taken several photography classes in college and always wanted to do more, so I took the opportunity to learn about setting up my own studio. In a span 14 days, I had produced the calendar from concept to photography to design to finished product. It was the most fulfilling thing I have done professionally to date. I can’t wait for the challenges ahead.
